Pelekanos Giant/Elephant Beans from Prespes 500g are premium Greek dried beans cultivated in the Prespes region of Florina, an area renowned for its exceptional bean production. They are produced by the Agricultural Cooperative of Bean Producers of the Prespes National Park “Pelekanos,” which specialises in certified local bean varieties and supports the agricultural tradition of the region. The cooperative offers both Giant and Elephant bean varieties from Prespes, including PDO/PGI-certified products.

These large, creamy beans are prized for their tender texture and rich flavour after cooking. They are ideal for traditional Greek gigantes plaki, slow-cooked casseroles, salads, soups and hearty Mediterranean dishes where a substantial, buttery bean is desired.

The Pelekanos Cooperative works closely with local growers in the Prespes National Park, helping preserve one of Greece’s most distinctive pulse-growing traditions while maintaining consistent quality and traceability from field to finished product.
